Kitchen Lead

The Larry is seeking a Kitchen Lead to join our young and growing team! The Kitchen Lead will be closely working alongside our Executive and Sous Chef to assist them in executing the best food in the downtown Phoenix area. The Larry’s Kitchen Lead will assess the performance of the team and relay improvements to the Executive and Sous Chefs, will always uphold the highest of standards in the kitchen and will have a fun and exciting time leading the crew. If you have previous experience at a fast-paced restaurant and a dedication to providing excellent service to guests, are solution oriented, and have great organizational skills we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong leadership qualities are a must
  • Help put orders away
  • Assist with facilitating daily ordering to proper par levels
  • Perform monthly end of period inventory
  • Communicate regularly with the chef and sous chef about any items important to running the kitchen smoothly and efficiently
  • Execute food tickets, accurately to spec and within desired ticket time
  • Attain knowledge and ability to execute all menu items
  • Apply safe Food Handling and Sanitation practices when preparing, handling or storing consumable items
  • Ensures proper product rotation; using consistent first in, first out, practices
  • Maintains a working environment that is set up for success, by properly setting up and breaking down kitchen and dish areas, keeping up with basic prep pars properly, completing daily side work & cleaning duties, and keeping cooking areas organized throughout service, serving as the example for your team


  • 21 years or older
  • 1-2 years experience in a lead cook role for a restaurant kitchen
  • Food handling card or certification through approved organization
  • Able to lift and move 50 pounds and be able to sustain working long hours on your feet
  • Should have reliable transportation to get to scheduled shifts on time
  • Can follow directives and instructions, on the spot, during busy times
  • Working knowledge of common weights and recipe measurements
  • Has advanced knife skills and prep production & recipe execution abilities
  • Broad-based knowledge of techniques, cooking styles and cuisines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, neatly both independently and with a team
  • Skilled in multitasking, organization and time management skills, and teaching others how to do the same
  • Experienced in training employees on cooking techniques and following recipes
