Job Summary

The Sales Design Consultant is responsible for professionally presenting and selling new pools to residential and home builder customers .  Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to meeting and interacting with customers at Shasta design centers or at their homes regarding new pool sales.  Must be able to understand the customer’s vision for their backyard lifestyle and be able to both design and price out that vision in front of the customer. This position is based in any one of the following locations:  Phoenix,Surprise, or Mesa, AZ

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partners with customer to gain an understanding of the customer’s vision for their backyard lifestyle
  • Creates customers custom design and develops price proposal with the customer. 
  • Updates sales tracking system (using internal system) upon completion of each lead contact
  • Conducts an accurate measurement of customer’s property.
  • Works sales/design center floor  and special Shasta Promotions on Holidays (rotational schedule)
  • Participates and attends company tradeshows
  • Creates comprehensive and detailed drawings of renovation concepts
  • Attends regularly scheduled (both weekly and monthly team) Sales Meetings
  • Assists customers in the Idea Gallery with the product selection process for new or remodeled pools
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job/Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of outside sales experience (prior industry experience is a plus)
  • Must have strong basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to accurately use a tape measure (or related equipment) and engineering scale
  • Excellent computer skills – with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Experience working with AutoCAD or Pool Studio is a plus Must be able to work Saturdays, Holidays, and extra hours during peak seasons to meet customer needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills; along with the ability to work effectively as part of a sales team
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to sell value added products
  • Strong follow up and organizational skills
  • Strong personal time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess and maintain a current/valid AZ Driver’s license and clean MVR
  • Conducts face-to-face meetings at customer homes or at Shasta design centers.
  • Must be able to travel (drive) throughout the greater phoenix area (assigned sales territory).
